The Muscle Help Foundation (MHF) is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all children and vulnerable adults. The charity brings together children, young people and their families, creating communities through transformational events, networks and activities.
The charity delivers Muscle Dreams for vulnerable children and young adults, aged 8 to 28 years, with muscular dystrophy and allied neuro-muscular conditions. Through Muscle Dreams and by bringing beneficiaries and families together, we aim to help fulfil their potential, giving them a sense of purpose and hope for the future.
Our Board of Trustees recognise and promote the safety and well-being of our beneficiaries, their families and our wider stakeholder community. The charity actively promotes a safe culture by clearly identifying and communicating safeguarding roles and responsibilities.
The charity has clear safeguarding procedures in place. We train staff and volunteers in these procedures and we apply a zero-tolerance approach to any form of abuse or harm. Our Safeguarding Policy, Procedures and Code of Practice, which are reviewed annually, details our commitment to this.
